Stephen A. Lucas, PhD (1968, Sociology, Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes, Paris, France), Diploma in Bantu Languages (1967, Ecole National des Langues Orientales Vivantes, Paris, France), Licenciate in Political and Administrative Science(1964, Universite du Congo, Lubumbashi). Currently, Executive Director of Office of International Programs. Instructor at LSU since 1995, teaching Swahili language and courses on Africa, international studies and democratic governance. Member of the Steering Committee on African and African American Studies. Fluent in French and proficient in Swahili, Portuguese and Spanish. Widely traveled in Africa, Europe and Latin America.
